About us
Created by Silvio San Pietro, the Milanese bookstore L'Archivolto opened to the public in 1980 providing a cultural venue with a complementary section for rare books and an art gallery.
Boasting a unique specialization in architecture, town planning, landscaping, design, decorative arts, and local history, it soon became a point of reference for architects, designers, collectors, scholars from Italy and abroad, libraries, institutes and universities - as well as a venue for exhibitions, encounters, and debates.
In 1986 the store set up its own publishing division Edizioni L'Archivolto, specializing in the same subjects. Its high-quality publications offer a further, comprehensive documentation of evolving trends in the field of contemporary architecture, and of the ideas of emerging architects and designers.
In continuous expansion, L'Archivolto is made up of the following sections: L'ARCHIVOLTO EDITIONS, L'ARCHIVOLTO BOOKSHOP, L'ARCHIVOLTO RARE BOOKS, L’ARCHIVOLTO EVENTS.
